The new college football season is now officially in full force.
We haven’t even hit Saturday of Week 1 and already have a second upset of a top-25 team in the books with South Florida’s 34-7 rout of No. 25 Boise State on Thursday.
And, still, all the fun so far feels like just an appetizer for a holiday weekend ahead with — cue the Tootsie Pop owl — one, two, THREE top-10 matchups to help put college football fans everywhere in the spirit already in late August.
The grins on these idiots’ faces below should speak volumes about the excitement to dive into this week’s action and the season ahead.
Louisiana vs. All Y’all’s “PODnas” cohosts Jerit Roser and Daniel Hawkes are excited to kick off another year of preview conversations and predictions entering each weekend of college football.
Hawkes was so eager to talk about the great selection of games that he stayed committed to the episode despite having a fraction of his voice left post-illness this week. What a trooper!
No. 9 LSU vs. No. 4 Clemson of course led off the episode, but with plenty of time to also hit a half dozen Louisiana schools in all and the other two top-10 tilts.

- Tulane vs. Northwestern
- Louisiana (Lafayette) vs. Rice
- Louisiana Tech vs. Southeastern Louisiana
- Nicholls State at Troy
- No. 1 Texas at No. 3 Ohio State
- No. 6 Notre Dame at No. 10 Miami
And the PODnas disagreed on their predictions for four of the seven games.
