Another member of Edna Karr’s loaded senior class has announced his college plans ahead of next week’s early signing period.

Wide receiver Greg Wilfred committed to UTSA on Monday via social media, giving a quick-footed weapon in the slot to a program always on the hunt for speed on the recruiting trail.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound athlete entered senior season as the No. 49 overall prospect and No. 11 wide receiver in Louisiana vs. All Y’all’s 2026 rankings for a class packed with Division-I talent at the position.

He was one of the top remaining uncommitted seniors in the state before locking in with the Roadrunners.

Edna Karr (11-0) is the No. 1 seed in the Division-I Select bracket and one of nine remaining undefeated teams left in the playoffs heading into its home quarterfinal against No. 8 Evangel Christian (9-2).

Wilfred, nicknamed “G-Smoke,” was one of three freshmen who played on Destrehan’s 2022 state championship team and has been among his team’s top targets the past three seasons for the Wildcats in 2023 and 2024 and now the Cougars this fall.
