Brayden Allen‘s winding recruiting jersey will lead him just across the Atchafalaya Basin.

The Lafayette Christian wide receiver announced his commitment Tuesday evening to home-state LSU as the latest development in a whirlwind day for the Tigers’ 2026 class and months of curveballs and corresponding pivots in his recruitment.

Allen joins Jabari Mack (Destrehan) as the first two pieces of a reshuffled receiver class heading to Baton Rouge following exits by Kenny Darby (Airline) and Kervin Johnson Jr. (Tioga) a few hours earlier.

The Knights’ 6-foot-1, 175-pound star is the No. 28 overall prospect at No. 7 wide receiver in Louisiana vs. All Y’all’s 2026 class rankings, most recently updated entering this season.

Allen initially committed to Tulane on July 17 over Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Boston College and a long list of other programs.

But, just two days later, Ole Miss kicked off a fresh round of Power-Four suitors entering the mix that went on to include Colorado, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the weeks that followed.

And Oklahoma was ultimately able to flip him Oct. 1 with the opportunity for him to play in the SEC at the next level.

Allen remained locked in with the Sooners even upon receiving an offer from the home-state Tigers during a Nov. 15 visit for interim coach Frank Wilson III and company’s win against Arkansas.

But the arrival of new coach Lane Kiffin and other members of the Ole Miss staff proved a late game-changer.

Allen was back in Norman, Okla., on Saturday for the regular-season finale between the Sooners and Tigers, but then Sunday was among the first prospects on campus at LSU as Kiffin arrived and subsequently decommitted that night.
