LSU, new coach Lane Kiffin land first 2026 transfer portal commitment

LSU introduced Lane Kiffin as its next head football coach Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.

LSU and new coach Lane Kiffin landed their first commitment Sunday of the 2026 transfer-portal window, which opened Friday.

Now-former Hawaii wide receiver Jackson Harris, fresh off a breakout sophomore campaign for the Warriors, is headed to Baton Rouge, he told On3.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound pass-catcher earned All-Mountain West honors this season with 963 yards and 12 touchdowns on 49 receptions in 10 games.

Williams initially signed with home-state Stanford in 2023 as a four-star prospect according to ESPN and three-star according to On3 and 247.

He spent two years with the Cardinal, including a redshirt season, and saw limited action for a combined six catches for 86 and a touchdown in nine total games before exploding this past fall.

The Berkley, Calif., native was a three-sport athlete in high school and led the state his senior season in receiving yards (1,492) and touchdowns (24) on 73 catches.

Kiffin assured in his introductory press conference Dec. 1 that LSU would have success recruiting the transfer portal for some of the best players in the country.

And an entirely new-look offensive staff’s rebuilding of their side of the ball will be the primary focus during this year’s 15-day window.

Starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is headed to the NFL, and reserves Michael Van Buren Jr. and Colin Hurley have both entered the portal.

Thirteen of the 15 Tigers to record multiple receptions in 2025 and eight of the nine to record carries have indicated plans to enter either the NFL draft or the transfer portal.

Only rising junior tight end Trey’Dez Green and rising sophomore running back Harlem Berry have announced returns among LSU’s productive skill players from this past season.
