LSU remains No. 3, No. 4 in AP, Coaches polls for Week 3

LSU remained ranked No. 3 and No. 4 in unchanged top threes for each of the new AP and Coaches polls released Sunday entering the NCAA’s Week 3.

The Tigers (2-0) again follow No. 1 Ohio State (2-0) and No. 2 Penn State (2-0) on both lists and No. 3 Georgia (2-0) on the Coaches’ list on the heels of their 23-7 defeat of Louisiana Tech (1-1) in Saturday’s home opener.

No. 5 Oregon (2-0) rounds out the Coaches’ top five, with No. 4 Oregon and No. 5 Miami (2-0) doing so for the AP where Georgia slipped to spots to No. 6.

LSU and Georgia lead nine SEC representatives in the Coaches’ top 25 with Florida (1-1) falling out from No. 15 after losing to new No. 23 USF (2-0) on Saturday.

The Tigers and Bulldogs headline a group of 10 programs from the conference in the AP top 25 as No. 24 Auburn (2-0) entered the mix to replace the Gators

Oklahoma (2-0) was the Coaches’ big climber with an eight-spot leap to No. 16 after beating Michigan (1-1), while Tennessee (2-0)  earned those honors for the AP with a seven-spot move up to No. 15.
