LVAY’s ‘Shootouts & Shutouts’ for LHSAA Week 7

Week 7 of LHSAA action marked the most extreme week today of Louisiana vs. All Y’all’s new “Shootouts & Shutouts” feature.

LVAY began this season compiling weekly lists of games featuring at least 70 combined points with final margins within single digits or those in which the winning team held its opponent scoreless.

And this past weekend marked both the fewest “shootouts” in any week to date to meet that high-scoring criteria and the most “shutouts” in a single LHSAA week this season.

Oberlin’s 51-48 win against Merryville and East Ascension’s 49-48 win against St. Amant nearly hit the century mark in combined points, and Ruston’s wild comeback against Neville also surpassed 70 points — though it was more a story of one big momentum swing.

Madison Prep’s 63-0 roll past Port Allen meanwhile headlined the more than 30 shutouts, including eight of 50 points or more and another 10 of either 49-0 or 48-0.

The lists are compiled from all games the scores for which have been officially submitted to the LHSAA. But feel free to let us know if you have another score that should be included, but has yet to be submitted.
