LVAY’s ‘Shootouts & Shutouts’ for LHSAA Week 8

Louisiana has a new leader for the most lopsided victory in the state this season.

Northwood-Lena rolled past Lakeview, 72-0, for the biggest shutout in an LSWA game thus far this season.

The Gators’ dominant performance highlighted four Week 8 games in which teams scored at least 60 points and shut out their opponents.

Another set of Gators, St. Amant, meanwhile topped the high-scoring games of a more back-and-forth nature with its 55-52 survival of Live Oak.

LVAY began this season compiling weekly “Shootouts & Shutouts” lists of games featuring at least 70 combined points with final margins within single digits or those in which the winning team held its opponent scoreless.

And Week 8 provided plenty of memorable outcomes in those regards.

Also, Franklin Parish didn’t fit either category of the “Shootouts & Shutouts” feature, but did put up more points than any team thus far this season in a 77-35 rout of Grant.

The lists are compiled from all games the scores for which have been officially submitted to the LHSAA. But feel free to let us know if you have another score that should be included, but has yet to be submitted.
