Three SEC specialists bring LSU’s 2026 transfer class to 12

LSU continued rounding out its 2026 roster Wednesday via the transfer portal with a trio of SEC specialists bringing its list of additions to an even 12 in four days.

New coach Lane Kiffin and his staff have been particularly active retooling the Tigers’ offense almost from scratch, but have also landed key pieces on defense and now special teams.

Florida punter Hayden Craig and long snapper Mack Mulhern and Arkansas kicker Scott Starzyk are all now Baton Rouge-bound.

LSU announced late Wednesday the signings of the two former Gators and added Starzyk early Thursday.

Craig, a native of Quebec, and Mulhern, from Scottsdale, Ariz., signed with Florida as a highly ranked specialists in 2025, but did not see action this fall as redshirt senior Tommy Doman and Rocco Underwood handled those respective duties.

Sophomore Grant Chadwick had a strong season this fall punting for LSU, even being called by coach Brian Kelly the team’s “offensive weapon” at times when the Tigers sputtered, and maintains two years of eligibility.

But Craig and Mulhern follow special teams coordinator Joe Houston from Gainesville, Fla., to Baton Rouge after his hiring was announced by the program last month.

Starzyk signed with Arkansas this past year out of The Woodlands (Texas) as the nation’s top kicker according Kohl’s Kicking and started in all 12 games this fall as a true freshman.

He made 14 of his 18 field-goal attempts — including 2-for-3 from 50-plus yards — and all 47 extra-points to lead the Razorbacks with 89 points.
