Week 6 high school results for the LSWA’s ranked teams

The LSWA’s statewide polls at midseason held strong Friday as more programs around Louisiana ramped up district action.

Only eight top-10 teams in the five classifications stumbled in Week 6 — six to other top-10 teams and two to opponents receiving votes just outside their respective top-10 lists.

All five No. 1 teams — Edna Karr, North DeSoto, Jewel Sumner, Ouachita Christian and Haynesville — won their respective games.

But a pair of No. 2’s in Alexandria in Class 5A and St. James in Class 3A suffered losses to West Monroe and Archbishop Shaw, respectively, in addition to Class 1A No. 4 Opelousas Catholic’s loss Thursday to Westminster-Opelousas.

The LSWA compiles “How They Fared” lists each week, which we will share to provide a big-picture rundown of the biggest stories each week of high school action.
