Week 7 high school results for the LSWA’s ranked teams

Only six top-10 teams lost Friday — three to other top-10 opponents and one to a higher-

For the second straight week as more teams around Louisiana settle into district play, the LSWA’s statewide polls held increasingly strong overall.

A stumble by previously undefeated Zachary to nearby Liberty Magnet in District 4-5A headlined the surprises, with Church Point falling to rival Northwest in Class 3A and Class 1A Southern Lab losing to Class 3A Kaplan (both for the second straight year) marking the only other loss by top-10 teams to foes outside the top 10.

Catholic-Baton Rouge, Lafayette Christian and Mangham meanwhile notched big defeats of Central, Notre Dame and Oak Grove in some of the week’s marquee matchups.

The LSWA compiles “How They Fared” lists each week, which we will share to provide a big-picture rundown of the biggest stories each week of high school action.
