One of Louisiana’s top all-time girls’ basketball prospects will represent her home state at the next level, she announced Monday in one of the most fitting commitment announcements in recruiting history.
In a crawfish boil with family and friends, Oak Grove star Caroline Bradley shared her decision to play for LSU at the next level over an extensive list of other options.
“I learned and had the opportunity to carry on the Oak Grove standard of excellence,” Bradley said in an announcement video played for the large gathering. “This place, the town, the school, the community have made me the person I am today. In looking for where I would call home during my college years, I looked for a place that felt like home, a place that felt like Oak Grove, where the people were genuine and where you could feel the love, but also excellence was the standard.
“As it says in Proverbs 3:1, ‘To everything there’s a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.’ I truly believe this is my time, and I’m trusting God every step of the way. With that being said, I’m proud to announce my commitment to continue to basketball career…”
And the crowd roared as Bradley and her family revealed their LSU attire, played “Callin’ Baton Rouge” over the speakers and FaceTimed coach Kim Mulkey.
“This is a great day,” Mulkey said. “We’ve been working hard in the portal today, but this is the best news ever.”
The 6-foot-5 junior center, a versatile and skilled all-around standout, is a consensus top-10 national prospect in the 2027 recruiting class and one of the most decorated and highly regarded players to come out of Louisiana.
Her national rankings included No. 3 for ESPN’s “SportsCenter NEXT Super 60,” No. 4 for Prep Girls Hoops, No. 6 for On3 | Rivals and No. 7 for 247Sports — each of which network lists her as the top center or post player in the country.
Other programs prominently featured in her recruitment included South Carolina, UCLA, Duke, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Alabama and Vanderbilt.
Bradley, a member of last summer’s undefeated gold-medal run by Team USA at the 2025 FIBA U16 Women’s Americup, was recently named the Louisiana’s Gatorade Player of the Year and the LSWA’s Class 2A Outstanding Player for the second-straight year, as well as earning a a third-straight LSWA Class 2A all-state first-team selection.
This season, she posted eye-popping averages of 27.0 points, 16.9 rebounds, 3.4 blocked shots, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals, all of which climbed from her already-impressive and award-winning sophomore numbers.
Bradley became just Louisiana’s sixth girls basketball player to repeat as the winner of the Gatorade award, joining Capitol guard Seimone Augustus (2001, 2002), West Monroe guard Whitney Jones (2005, 2006), Vandebilt Catholic center Theresa Plaisance (2009, 2010), Destrehan guard Cara “Moon” Ursin (2015, 2016, 2017) and Parkway guard Mikaylah Williams (2022, 2023) as the state’s only multiple-time winners.
She becomes the fourth member of that group to sign with LSU out of high school — including Augustus, fresh off her second season back in Baton Rouge as an assistant coach; Williams, a rising senior guard for the Lady Tigers; and Plaisance.
Mulkey is also now positioned to sign the third member of the group with Williams and Bradley at LSU and Ursin at Baylor.
