The LHSAA’s annual Prep Classic football state championships event kicks off Thursday at noon with eight games in three days in Caesars Superdome to wrap up the season.
Three reigning state champions (Archbishop Shaw, Edna Karr and Sterlington) are back for the second straight year.
Two teams (Iowa and Jena) will make their first appearances, while two others (Ouachita, 1994; St. Augustine, 1979) are in title games for the first time in three-plus decades.
Three (Iowa, Jena and North DeSoto) are aiming to win their first state titles in program history.
And four teams (Edna Karr, Haynesville, Iowa and North DeSoto) carry undefeated into the final weekend of the season.
Here’s the rundown of the schedule of matchups. (Note: second- and third-game kickoff times are tentative and subject to be effected depending on prior games’ length.)
