The path to state championships in Sulphur next month is set for 216 high school baseball teams around Louisiana.
The LHSAA released its 2026 playoff brackets Tuesday morning with first-round series beginning in six of the 10 classifications/divisions this week.
Barbe, Brusly, Sterlington and Welsh are the No. 1 seeds in the four Non-Select Divisions I, II, III and IV, respectively.
Brother Martin, Vandebilt Catholic, University Lab and Opelousas Catholic top the Select Divisions I, II, III and IV, respectively.
And Pitkin leads the Class B bracket, while Maurepas does so in Class C.
Those 10 top seeds include three reigning champions in Brusly, Sterlington and Pitkin.
Postseason action will begin this week with best-of-three opening-round series in Divisions I, II and III.
Single-elimination tournaments in Division IV and Classes B and C will coincide next week with the higher divisions’ second round.
