Nine undefeated LHSAA football teams will practice on Thanksgiving week this season in preparation of home quarterfinal matchups.
Top seeds Edna Karr (11-0) in Division-I Select, North DeSoto (11-0) in Division-II Non-Select, Westminster Christian-Opelousas (11-0) in Division-IV Select and Haynesville (11-0) in Division-IV Non-Select will host No. 8 Evangel Christian (9-2), No. 8 Franklinton (9-3), No. 9 St. Edmund (9-2) and No. 9 Jonesboro Hodge (9-3), respectively.
Division-I Select No. 2 Teurlings Catholic (11-0) will host No. 7 John Curtis (8-2), and Division-II Non-Select No. 2 Iowa (11-0) will host No. 10 Lutcher (8-4).
Division-III Select No. 3 Jewel Sumner (11-0) will host No. 6 Calvary Baptist (10-1), and Division-III Non-Select No. 4 Kinder (11-0) will host No. 12 Union Parish (7-5).
Division-IV Select No. 3 Hamilton Christian (10-0) will host No. 6 Ascension Episcopal (10-1).
Eleven teams finished undefeated regular seasons, including second-year program Young Audiences Charter (8-0), which did not yet complete a full schedule and was not yet eligible for postseason play.
Division-III Non-Select No. 5 Erath (10-1) lost to Union Parish, 14-9, on Friday.
The Bobcats’ loss assured the earliest any two undefeated teams would meet would come in state championships in Caesars Superdome in mid-December.
The map showed schools listed by their classification based on enrollment, with red denoting Class 5A, orange denoting Class 4A, green denoting Class 3A, blue denoting Class 2A and purple denoting Class 1A — and labeled with their respective postseason divisions, including squares denoting non-select schools and diamonds denoting select schools.
Each school is also listed with its record and list of opponents defeated within its details.
