LCA WR Brayden Allen commits to Oklahoma after one-time Tulane pledge

Another of Louisiana’s top prospects is SEC-bound.

Lafayette Christian wide receiver Brayden Allen has committed to Oklahoma, he shared Wednesday via social media.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound pass-catcher had previously pledged to in-state Tulane during the summer before a surge of Power-Four programs including the Sooners, Ole Miss, Colorado and Oklahoma State ramped up their recruiting pushes during the past few months and sparked some reconsideration.

Allen earned District 6-2A MVP and LSWA Class 2A all-state selections as a junior with 1,155 yards and 10 touchdowns on 55 receptions.

He has caught 17 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns thus far through four games of a senior season in which his Knights have faced good, higher-classification competition every week, but managed a 3-1 record.

Allen is the highest-ranked of Lafayette Christian’s talented senior class which also includes Louisiana (Lafayette) commits Braylon Walker and Luke Green among the headliners.

He is the state’s sixth 2026 wide receiver to commit to a Power-Four program, joining Destrehan’s Jabari Mack and Airline’s Kenny Darby to LSU, Opelousas Catholic’s Roderick Tezeno Jr. to USC, Edna Karr’s Jakai Anderson to SMU and Iowa’s Jeremiah Bushnell to Houston.

Tulane maintains West Monroe standout Trez Davis among its highly ranked in-state commitments for the current class.
