LSU adds two OL commitments to growing 2026 transfer-portal haul

LSU has stockpiled a slew of new offensive weapons during the first few days of the 2026 transfer-portal window and on Thursday finally addressed its need up front.

North Carolina Central right tackle Ja’Quan Sprinkle announced his commitment Thursday afternoon, marking the Tigers’ first offensive lineman of their growing haul of experienced addition to the roster.

And Copiah-Lincoln right tackle JaKolby Jones, a Many High product, followed suit later Thursday evening.

Sprinkle has started during the past two seasons for the Eagles after limited action as a back-up during a redshirt season in 2023.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound blocker from Orangeburg, S.C.,  had also received offers since entering the portal Friday included New Mexico State, Marshall, South Alabama, Akron and Western Kentucky.

Jones was a part of Many’s 2022 state championship run with current LSU linebacker Tylen Singleton before spending the past two years at Co-Lin where he developed into one of the higher-ranked JUCO prospects available this winter.

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound standout signed with Louisiana (Lafayette) this winter and was scheduled to join the program for the spring semester, but has changed course for another home-state program and an SEC opportunity.

Sprinkle and Jones bring LSU’s signing or commitment total to 16 overall and nine on offense during the first week of the 15-day transfer-portal window.

The Tigers will be replacing the bulk of their rotation from an offensive line group that struggled through much of the 2025 season.

Right guard Josh Thompson was a fifth-year senior this past fall, and Tyree Adams (Texas A&M), D.J. Chester, Carius Curne (Ole Miss), Coen Echols (Texas A&M), Paul Mubenga and Ory Williams (Tennessee) have all entered the transfer portal and in many cases already landed with new programs.

Rising sophomore tackle Weston Davis had initially shared intentions to transfer before instead opting to return to Baton Rouge.

And veteran center Braelin Moore, who transferred last year from Virginia Tech and was a bright spot this fall, is expected to return, but could still opt make the leap to the NFL.

The Tigers could also return versatile veteran Bo Bordelon and promising young redshirt freshmen in Brett Bordelon, Tyler Miller and Solomon Thomas.

Here’s the rundown of which new players heading to Baton Rouge thus far:
