LSU continued its late-Sunday flurry of transfer additions by further stockpiling wide receivers with a familiar face for its new offensive coaches.
Former blue-chip prospect Winston Watkins Jr., who spent this past year at Ole Miss with coach Lane Kiffin and coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., announced his commitment via social media following a weekend visit to Baton Rouge.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Fort Myers, Fla., native caught 26 passes for 373 yards and a touchdown — the sixth-most productive receiver on an explosive Rebels attack — and rushed five times for another 21 yards.

Watkins became the third new commitment to LSU in the span of about four hours Sunday evening, bringing the program’s incoming transfer class to 25 players total.
He is also notably the eighth wide receiver added in the past eight days as Kiffin, Weis and new wide receivers coach George McDonald work to rebuild that position room nearly from scratch.
Redshirt freshman Phillip Wright III (Destrehan) is the only wide receiver from the 2025 roster the program has announced thus far as returning.
But the Tigers have landed a slew of experienced and talented transfers in Jackson Harris (Hawaii), Eugene “Tre” Brown III (Old Dominion), Jayce Brown (Kansas State), Eugene “Tre” Wilson III (Florida), Malik Elzy (Illinois), Josh Jackson (McNeese State), Tyree Holloway (West Florida) and now Watkins.
