LSU secures first quarterback of transfer-portal class in Elon QB Landen Clark

LSU’s wait for a quarterback in its incoming transfer class — now of 24 players and still counting — is over.

Elon star Landen Clark announced his commitment late Sunday to the Tigers, who are working this offseason to replace all of the scholarship players from their 2025 position room.

The 6-foot, 186-pound athlete earned All-Colonial Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Rookie of the Year honors this fall for a redshirt freshman season in which he completed 155 of his 277 pass attempts for 2,321 yards, 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions and rushed 189 times for another 614 yards and 11 more scores.

Clark joins walk-on Emile Picarella III, the former University Lab standout, as the two quarterbacks currently on new coach Lane Kiffin’s first roster in Baton Rouge following the departures of Garrett Nussmeier for the NFL and Michael Van Buren Jr. and Colin Hurley for the transfer portal.

The Radford, Va., native is the 14th offensive addition overall via the transfer portal during the past eight days, including seven wide receivers, three offensive linemen, two running backs and a tight end.

LSU is expected to continue working to land at least one more quarterback this week among the final pieces of this year’s transfer class.
