For the third time in four weeks, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s statewide high school football polls saw some shakeup atop at least one classification.
Lafayette Christian (3-1) fell from No. 1 in Class 2A following its road loss Friday at Archbishop Shaw (2-2), leaving the door open for Ouachita Christian (4-0) to overtake the spot for the first time this season.
The Eagles lead what has now become one of the most split classifications with four different programs receiving first-place votes — second-most to the six different programs in a Class 3A poll that has been marked by parity since the preseason.
Edna Karr (4-0) in Class 5A and Haynesville (4-0) in Class 1A reman unanimous No. 1 teams.
North DeSoto (4-0) and Jewel Sumner (4-0) top Class 4A and Class 3A, respectively, for the second straight week.
