The Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s statewide high school football polls saw their least shakeup thus far this season ahead of Week 7.
Edna Karr, North DeSoto, Jewel Sumner, Ouachita Christian and Haynesville all topped their respective classifications for the third straight week.
And, even on a week in which 12 previously undefeated teams suffered their first losses, only a few rankings rises or falls featured shifts more than a spot or two — all resulting from the outcomes of specific ranked matchups.
Westminster-Opelousas made the biggest jump, five spots to No. 5 in Class 1A, after beating Catholic-Pointe Coupee, Sacred Heart-Ville Platte and Opelousas Catholic the past three weeks.
Vandebilt Catholic, Lake Charles College Prep and Mangham all entered their respective Class 4A, Class 3A and Class 2A lists at No. 10.
