The end of March and beginning of April have brought a few new college commitment announcements from Louisiana natives as that part of the recruiting cycle heats up.
Unfortunately for college fans around the state, all the latest decisions have landed those prospects elsewhere.
Athletic edge rusher Zyron Forstall (Jesuit, IMG Academy) and dynamic weapon Javon Vital Jr. (Hamilton Christian, Lake Charles College Prep) pledged to Texas A&M and USC, respectively, after having been early priorities for LSU’s previous staff.
And springy wide receiver Marcus Watson Jr. (Central) and versatile safety Kendrick Joseph Jr. (St. James) shared their decisions to join the classes of Houston and Old Dominion, two programs recruiting The Boot as actively as anyone right now.
Louisiana vs. All Y’all “Recruit Dat Boot” co-hosts Jerit Roser and Sam Spiegelman recapped all that latest movement, what those programs get from the Boot Boys now planning to head their way for the next level and where the concern level should be for fans of the in-state schools.
Also, after a blazing 10.20-second 100-meter dash Friday by Brother Martin star Easton Royal, the guys couldn’t help but take a quick tangent to discuss the latest on the Texas-committed wide receiver, one of Louisiana’s top 2027 talents, who is fresh off a spring visit to home-state LSU.
