Louisiana’s young high school football season continues to be full of early upheaval of anticipated contenders.
Nine top-five teams in the LSWA statewide polls suffered Week 2 losses, edging the eight from opening weekend, and marking now a combined 34 losses by teams ranked in the top 10 at the time.
The top-ranked teams in each classification — Edna Karr, Franklin Parish, St. James, Lafayette Christian and Haynesville — handled their respective business.
But a pair of No. 2 and a pair of No. 3 teams each suffered losses, including Class 4A where No. 2 Franklinton (1-1), No. 3 St. Thomas More (0-2) and No. 5 E.D. White (0-2) all fell.
