Louisiana’s high school football season is finally, thankfully upon us with a slew of intriguing matchups around the state Thursday slated to kick off the festivities.
The Boot is always loaded with resilient, well-coached football teams led on the field by hyper-productive playmakers and some of the nation’s top all-around talent.
Louisiana vs. All Y’all has once again selected preseason all-state teams to highlight several of the elite standouts who appear poised for great performances ahead with their combinations of ability, proven track records and prominent roles as leaders of their programs.
The two teams — small schools (3A, 2A and 1A) and large schools (5A and 4A) — follow the same format as past All-Louisiana vs. All Y’all preseason and postseason lists with each recognizing 31 first-team choices — 14 on offense, 14 on defense and three specialists — plus 19 honorable mentions.
Limiting to just 62 first-teamers and 100 total players in talent-reach Louisiana meant some challenging decisions — downright brutal in some cases — but underscores the elite nature of these rosters.
