A couple marquee Class 5A matchups, including a No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown, remain on deck for Saturday, but a slew of eye-catching and poll-changing outcomes have already rolling in Friday from around Louisiana.
Top-five teams in four of the state’s five classifications have already suffered Week 3 losses, including in Class 3A where both No. 1 St. Charles Catholic and No. 3 Jena fell to higher-classification competition.
Class 4A No. 2 Archbishop Shaw and Class 2A No. 5 Lafayette Christian also did so, and the loser of No. 1 Ruston and No. 2 Edna Karr on Saturday will join No. 5 Catholic-Baton Rouge as highly ranked Class 5A teams to suffer losses this weekend.

Class 5A No. 4 St. Augustine (2-0) will face East Ascension (2-0) after the Bearcats and Cougars’ clear the Caesars Superdome field.
