The LHSAA’s 10-week regular season will officially close Saturday with, coincidentally, 10 remaining undefeated teams heading into the playoffs next week.
Another two programs — Ascension Christian and Sacred Heart — suffered their first losses Friday, leaving two teams in each classification and with only two postseason divisions with multiple teams without a blemish in the loss column.
Mandeville and St. Augustine in Class 5A, North DeSoto and Westgate in Class 4A, Eunice and Patrick Taylor in Class 3A, Notre Dame and Vinton in Class 2A and Ouachita Christian and Southern Lab in Class 1A have each navigated their respective schedules without falter.
The Division-II Non-Select bracket will feature three unbeaten teams in No. 2 Westgate, No. 3 Eunice and No. 4 North DeSoto, while Division-IV Select will include No. 4 Ouachita Christian and No. 8 Southern Lab.
No. 1 Mandeville in Division-I Non-Select, No. 1 St. Augustine in Division-I Select, No. 6 Patrick Taylor in Division-II Select, Division-III Select No. 1 Notre Dame and Division-IV Non-Select No. 2 Vinton will each be the only undefeated teams in their respective brackets.
