LOUISIANA VS ALL Y'ALL

LSU finding stride as national contender, Saints can’t run, Karr-Aug headlines weekend | The Sidelined Coach

Halloween weekend may feel eerily quiet around Louisiana from the college and professional football standpoint, but has plenty of fireworks on deck at the high school level — and plenty to talk about all-around.

LSU, Louisiana (Lafayette) and the New Orleans Saints are all on byes, and Tulane and Louisiana Tech are out-of-state on the road.

The light schedule provides an opportunity to reflect on somewhat of a progress report on where some teams stand through two months of the season and heading into November.

It also provides the biggest billing possible for a nationally notable high school showdown of undefeated Catholic League teams in Edna Karr and St. Augustine that was going to command a major spotlight under any circumstances.

Louisiana vs. All Y’all’s “The Sidelined Coach” co-hosts Jerit Roser and Cordae Hankton covered those bases and more, including an unbeaten St. Tammany Parish battle between Mandeville and Northshore, on this week’s episode of their podcast.

Hankton, the longtime high school and college coach currently taking a season out of the grind after working most recently at LSU, has various ties to all four prep programs involved in those marquee matchups.

He and Roser set the stage for those contests, as well as reflect on where the Tigers — hitting their stride as notable national contenders — and the Saints — painfully unable to establish any semblance of a rushing attack — are heading into November.
