District play is in pretty full swing all over Louisiana, and several teams handled their latest business in dominant fashion.
Week 6 was loaded with shutouts — 30 in all — including three of the four largest victories in the state thus far this season and a dozen in which the winning teams broke 50 points.
This week’s “shootouts” list — which returning fans will remember we define as games of 70-plus combined points decided by single digits — was short and sweet.
St. John notched its most notable win thus far this season in a 43-40 thriller with Iberville Parish rival North Iberville.
West Jefferson similarly beat its parish rival East Jefferson, 39-35, to win the series in back-to-back years and claim its third straight victory of the season.
And Lakeshore earned a non-district win against Erath, 41-34, that could prove notable for playoff seeding next month.
