Louisiana’s high school football season wasted no time providing marquee matchups and eye-catching results of both dominant and thrilling fashions.
Three of five No. 1-ranked teams in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s preseason polls lost their season-openers, though all three stumbles came against high-level and, in two of the cases, higher-classification competition.
Class 5A No. 1 Ruston continued to stack its early statements with a 42-16 rout of Class 4A No. 1 Neville, and Class 2A No. 1 Dunham put together a monster road performance in a 55-15 dismantling of Class 5A Parkway.
