The first weekend of October was light on games for the state’s Division-I college programs, but not on notable Louisiana-relevant topics and takeaways.
A dominant Southeastern Louisiana win headlined the in-state slate, and former Isidore Newman star Arch Manning battled through and up-and-down afternoon in The Swamp and under the national microscope.
Those matchups were just a couple of the college games of interest, including all the bye weeks on the Louisiana schedule allowing some more time to look at other major storylines around the country.
Louisiana vs. All Y’all’s “PODnas,” Jerit Roser and Daniel Hawkes dive into the biggest takeaways from those contests, plus the New Orleans Saints’ first win of the season and of the Kellen Moore era and a big AFC East victory for former LSU stars Will Campbell (Neville) and Kayshon Boutte (Westgate) and the New England Patriots.
Plus, as always during football season, the guys take a look at four candidates for High School Play of the Week.
Featured this week: Evangel Christian quarterback Peyton “Pop” Houston (LSU) and receiver Johnny Casey Jr. (Louisiana Tech), Edna Karr defensive tackle Nigel Marshall and the Cougars’ defensive front, Acadiana receiver/athlete Collin DiBetta and St. James quarterback Ja’Juan Jackson and wide receiver Jakias Villanueva.

“PODnas” episodes are scheduled for Tuesday and Friday mornings during football season to recap and preview the biggest games and storylines with a particular focus on Louisiana.
